Dass racing against the clock to straighten things before Shah visit

GUWAHATI, April 12: For Assam Pradesh BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass it is literally racing against the clock. Set to invite party’s tiol president Amit Shah to pay a visit to the State during the Rongali Bhiu, he is wasting no time to straightening party works in the State up before the arrival of Shah in the State.

Dass, a busy beaver, has already reviewed works of the party 20 departments and ten projects in the State. He has also removed some of the lazy bones from the departments so as to make them gain speed and the desired outcome. Dass held a review meeting with all office-bearers holding the departments and projects of the party in the city yesterday. Following an instruction from Shah, the State BJP had to abolish its various cells and formed as many as 20 departments and adopted ten projects so as to make various government schemes reach their target beneficiaries. In fact, the party has been structured in such a pattern that it should work not less than the government departments so as to make various schemes and projects reach the target beneficiaries.

Dass, who is leaving for Bhubaneswar on April 14 to attend the party’s tiol executive meeting on April 15 and 16, is set to invite Shan to pay a visit to the State during the Bohag Bihu. However, before leaving for Bhubaneswar, he has to hold the core committee meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on April 13. He is also supposed meet all party MPs on that day.    

Ajay Jamwal, BJP’s organizatiol secretary for the Northeast, was also present at the party meeting. Dass spelt out the reasons behind the formation of such a large number of departments in the party. He appealed to his party colleagues holding various departments to work hard so as to set everything in order before the arrival of Amit Shah in the State.

“Only after going to the field one can understand if all is well in the party. During my recent visit to 38 organizatiol districts of the party in the State I came to know many a party matter that has much to do for me as the president of the party. I appeal to all my party colleagues to go to the filed – to 303 mandals and 16,000 booths – to gauge the pulses of party workers and the public as well, and let me know of them,” Dass said.

It is worth mentioning here that the party in the State has as many as 20 departments – Good Governce and Centre-State Administration Programme Coordition, Policy Research, Media, Media Relations, Training, Coordition with Election Commission, Law and Legal Affairs, Party Jourl and Publication, IT Website and Social Media, Intertiol Relations, Ajiwan Sahoyog Nidhi, State Minister Programme Cooperation, Political Fedback and Political Relations, tiol Programme and Meetings, Literary and Documentation, Disaster Relief and Assistance, President’s Office Tour and Programme, Development of Publicity and Literature, Coordition of Trusts and the Election Magement. This apart, the party has adopted ten projects, including Beti Bachao Beti Podao, Swachh Bharat, Antodoya, Zila Devalaya Nirman etc.
