DC tells APDCL to draw up plan to avert electrocutions

GUWAHATI, Aug 24: The Kamrup (M) District administration has asked Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to draw up an action plan so that no incidents of electrocution take place during puja.

Kamrup (M) DC M Angamuthu asked the APDCL officials here in a meeting on Thursday. 

In order to assess preparation for the ensuing Durga Puja festival, an administrative meeting was organised.

The administrative meeting of the district administration, Assam State Police and Guwahati Municipal Corporation was attended by Guwahati Commissioner of Police Hiren Chandra th, Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Molisa Goswami along with the heads of various departments.

Keeping a tab on the possibility of flood during the month of September, as the Durga puja will be celebrated from September 27, Angamathu directed the APDCL to take precautiory measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

He also directed to hold a meeting at the ward level for the same.

Guwahati Commissioner of Police Hiren Chandra th asked the APDCL authority as well as GMDA officials to take concerted effort for the proper lighting of the city to put a check on any unpleasant incidents during the festival.

th also directed for making provisions of zebra crossings in arterial roads by the Public Works department. He also directed the authorities concerned for manning of the traffic sigls which are lying non-functiol.
