Dutta slams Sonowal

GUWAHATI, Jan 3: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) vice president Ripun Bora today hit back at State BJP president Sarbanda Sonowal asked him as to what he did for Assam as a Union minister.
In a statement issued to the press today, Bora came down heavily on Sonowal for criticizing Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on his New Year announcements. Saying that Sonowal is going Hitler’s way, Bora said: “Repeating something doesn’t make anything true or false.”
On Sonowal statement against the Rs 100-crore package for Dhemaji, Boro said: “Sonowal should know it from Dhemaji DC that Rs 60 crore of the Rs 100-crore package has already been spent. He should also ask the DCs of the three Barak Valley districts to know what amount of the Rs 1,000-crore package has been spent. Rs 500 crore of the Rs 600 crore released has already been spent.” On Sonowal’s statement against Gogoi on appointment of candidates, Bora asked him: “If there was nothing tangible from Gogoi on this front, how come 43,000 youths were appointed as teachers through TET? Likewise, 7,000 teachers were appointed on contracts in high and higher secondary schools, as many as 72,703 posts were povincialized in various educatiol institutes, 7,000 OBB teachers were regularized, 3000 youths were given appointment under SSA, 1900 under RHM, 30,000 AHSA workers, 20,000 Anganwadi helpers, 10,000 jobs in various departments including police constables, slef-employment facilities to 85 lakh youth, women and farmers in various departments under various schemes, etc.” Bora asked Sonowal as to how many from Assam got jobs as promised by Modi that two core would get jobs yearly.
