GUWAHATI, Feb 26: The Kamrup (M) district administration has already removed over 500 illegally constructed structures from either side of the NH-37 from Lokapriya Gopith Bordoloi Intertiol (LGBI) Airport at Azara to Jorabat.

It has also said that in the event of any damage to any of the vehicles, their owners will be responsible, not the administration.

The administration has also issued a similar warning to various parking lots, garages and other establishments to remove various vehicles parked within three days, failing which the administration will resort to confiscate them by using cranes.

The administration has also issued a directive to the tiol Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to erect permanent pillars and construct permanent boundary so as to stop further encroachment and misuse of the tiol Highway. The eviction drive is being carried out by three trams, each comprising police personnel, GMC officials, NHAI officials and officials of the district administration.
