Film awards to be given away on January 10

GUWAHATI, Jan 4: The second Sailadhar Baruah memorial film awards will be given away on January 10 to commemorate the death anniversary of the renowned filmmaker at District Library, Guwahati. There will be six categories of awards, including best film, best artiste and best technical award, besides two special jury awards. Altogether 12 films censored between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 participated. Taking to newsmen on Thursday at Guwahati Press Club, Ranjit Das, secretary of Sailadhar Baruah Memorial Trust, said: “After the award ceremony, the best film will be screened. Veteran actor Nipon Goswami and director Dara Ahmed will be the chief guests in the programme.  Seasoned actor Badal Das and director Munin Baruah will be felicitated at the programme.
