FINER push for new industrial policy for Assam

GUWAHATI, June 9: The Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) has urged Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonwal to take steps for the formation of a New Industrial Policy for the State and a Chief Minister’s High Powered Economic Advisory Council.   

A high level delegation of FINER led by the Chairman R S Joshi, who met Chief Minister Sonowal at Dispur today requested him to form a New Industrial Policy for the State/region and a Chief Minister’s High powered Economic Advisory Council, consisting of people of high caliber, on the lines of Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, to timely address the key economic issues pertaining to the State, said a top FINER official.

The delegation also apprised the Chief Minister about the issues prevalent in the State and requested him to take steps to address it for the overall development of the State, added the official.

He said that the Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and informed the delegation that he would soon convene a meeting with the captains and leading industrialist of the region, along with FINER, for enhancing investments in the State.
