GUWAHATI, Nov 19: State Forest and Environment Minister Pramila Rani Brahma today inspected the Garbhanga Forest Reserve near Basistha Ashram and took stock of the earth cutting of Tetelia hills in the city. The minister was accompanied by chief conservators of forest (CCFs) tpal Bora and Akashdeep Baruah. The minister took stock of the revenue of the 42 bigha land of Tetelia hills and the joint survey of the department. She has asked the forest officials to keep the non-miadi patta lands in the area annexed with the forest land in the interest of forest and environment. It is worth mentioning here that an unscrupulous racket sought revenue from forest lands atop Tetelia hill a few years back and resorted to earth cutting posing a threat to Gotagar Reserve forest. The forest asked the officials of the department to chalk out ways for improving the condition of the only road connecting Garbhanga and Lokhora. The minister also interacted with the local people staying nearby Garbhanga forest reserve.
