Foundation for renovation of ESIC hospital laid

GUWAHATI, Oct 6: Union Minister of State (Independent) for Labour & Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar laid the foundation stone for renovation and ugradation of ESIC Model Hospital, Beltola IN Guwahati on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, he said that the hospital would prove to be a boon for the beneficiaries of ESI Scheme in North Eastern Region in general and beneficiaries of Guwahati in particular. He also stated that the Centre is giving special focus on labour welfare and development  of North –Eastern States.

The Union minister said that with the upgradation and renovation of  ESIC Model Hospital all the indoor and outdoor facilities – OPDs, 24x7 Emergency Service, ICU, Operation theatres, Pathology Rooms, Radiology, Physiotherapy, Wards, etc. – will be made available. The minister appreciated ESIC for upgrading this hospital to a 100-bedded one, and due to which more than two lakh Insured Person and around 7.00 lakh family members from North Eastern Region will be benefited.

Assam Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour & Employment, Tea Tribes Welfare, Revenue, Disaster Magement and Power Pallab Lochan Das was all praise for the Union Labour and Employment Minister.

Guwahati MP Bijoya Chakravarty also thanked the Union Minister for upgradation of ESIC Model Hospital.

The other dignitaries present at the function were MLAs Atul Bora, Siddharta Bhattacharya,  ESI Director General Raj Kumar, and others.
