GMDA coming up with open air gymsia!

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 20: One’s face does not fit. One has to be as fit as fiddle to get anything done. With such an aim in view, the GMDA is now going to introduce an ‘open air gymsium or gym culture’ in Guwahati.

GMDA Chairman Dr. M Angamuthu was on record making such a statement recently. To begin with, Angamuthu has opted to take the three parks – Nehru Park, Shraddhanjali Kan and Sankardev Park – being run in Guwahati by the GMDA. He wants to open ‘open air gymsia’, one in each of the three GMDA-run parks, in the city. He is of the view that ‘open air exercise’ is more helpful that ‘exercise in closed rooms’ as is the practice in the gymsia currently working in the city.

Another positive side of this venture, according to Angamuthu, is that the rates of fees in the three gymsia will be much cheaper than the ones being run privately in the city.
