Gogoi on shopping spree

GUWAHATI, April 10: After days of hectic election campaigning across the length and breadth of the State, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi took a day off from his busy schedule and went to Beltola Bazar in Guwahati.

Chief Minister Gogoi went round the market with securitymen in tow to buy vegetables from roadside vendors. Gogoi purchased fresh vegetables from several vendors and took stock of the market. The Chief Minister expressed his happiness that the Beltola Bazar offers the vendors from adjoining districts of Kamrup metropolitan to sell their products. Gogoi during his interaction with the vendors stressed upon the need to grow more organic products.

Gogoi also had sweets and tea at a roadside stall. “I miss those days when I used to have hot singara and paratha and sweets at roadside stalls,” Gogoi said.

After spending almost half an hour, the Chief Minister returned to his official Koidhara residence with a bagful of leafy and fresh vegetables.
