Gold stolen

GUWAHATI, Oct 29: Gold worth Rs 10 lakh was stolen from New Silpa Bharati Jewellers located at Colony Bazar in the Kalapahar area in the city last night. According to sources, the shop did sell gold worth Rs 7 lakh on the day Dhanteras yesterday. This morning the owner of the jewellery shop, Dilip Banik, came to know that a portion of the wall of his shop was broken. While checking it, he came to know that gold worth Rs 10 lakh was stolen. The shop has CCTV camera fitted. Three months back, the owner of the shop was shot at in front of his shop. Meanwhile, the Nikhil Assam Swar Silpi Samiti (SSS) has condemned the stealing of gold from New Silpa Bharati Jewellers. They demanded of the police to b the thieves and ensure security to the jewelers.
