Government clarifies stand over death of NDFB (S) rebels
GUWAHATI, May 24: Reacting to the allegations made by Rajnish Rai, IG, NES, CRPF, Shillong in a section of media regarding the death of two NDFB (S) militants—Lukash rzary alias N.Langfa of Oxiguri under Amguri police station in Chirang district and Eyob Islary alias David alias Dayub of Aiedhubri village in an encounter at Simlaguri under Amguri police station in Chirang district on March 30, the State Government in a statement stated that the District Magistrate Chirang has already ordered Jayanta Sarkar, SDM, Chirang to conduct a detailed Magisterial inquiry as required under NHRC guidelines.
Further the Assam DGP has also directed Anurag Agarwal, BTAD IGP to conduct an enquiry and submit a factual report on April 29. Both the reports are awaited. The Government of Assam views the matter very seriously and is committed to take appropriate action on receipt of the Magisterial Enquiry Report and report of the DGP, the statement stated.
