Governor attends 318th Baisakhi Gurpurb

GUWAHATI, April 16: Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit paid obeisance at the Gopith gar Gurdwara on the occasion of 318th Baisakhi Gurpurb today.

Conveying his warm greetings on the joyous occasion of Baisakhi, the Governor expressed hope that the celebrations of Baisakhi would reinforce love and goodwill among the people and strengthen the bond of unity and bonhomie among them. He lauded the efforts of the people belonging to the Sikh community for their valour and courage.

Governor also said that Sikhs are considered as large-hearted and urged them to continue their benevolence and contribute to the welfare of the society at large. He also called upon the Sikh Sangat to emulate the lives and works of Maharaja Ranjit Singh who had shown his high mindedness through his deeds and actions.
