GUWAHATI, Sept 18: Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit attended a function ‘Swagatam Sharat’ as part of All India Sangeet and Nritya Utsav organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh at Rabindra Bhavan recently. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Purohit said that Indian art and culture dates back to the ages of puras. “Indian dance and music have got immense importance in worship and spirituality. Imprints of Shiva on dance testifies the significance of dance in ancient culture. Shiva’s tandav nritya - taraja is a depiction of Shiva as the lord of dance and dramatic arts,” Purohit said.
