Governor to present best Tulsi plantation awards

GUWAHATI, October 17 : Assam Governor PB Acharya will be resenting the best Tulsi plantation awards to the first three best tulsi plantation and 'Bheti' (platform) preparation awards at Raj Bhavan, Durbar Hall on October 27, 2015.

The awards, instituted by the Governor himself, med after Yoga Guru, Saint Patanjali; Astronomer and Scientist, Aryabhatta and Ayurvedic Surgeon, Sushruta carrying cash prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 for first, second and third best tulsi plantations respectively will be presented to the three best tulsi plantation and 'Bheti' (platform) preparation winners of the Tulsi Plantation Contest organized by "Aashray", a ture Organisation of Dergaon on the occasion of Kati Bihu on October 18, 2015.

Besides the cash awards, the winners will also be presented with certificates of honour.

The objective of the presentation of the awards is to make the people aware about tulsi and other medicil plants and herbs which are precious wealth and which encourage people to cultivate, preserve and conserve them for promotion of better ecology, environment and good health.
