Health camp by Fire & Emergency Service

GUWAHATI, Oct 29: Fire & Emergency Service, Assam organized a free medical and health checkup camp under the Noble Initiative of Dr. A.P. Rout, IPS, Director General of Civil Defence & Commandant General of Home Guard, Assam, at Regiol Training Centre, Silla, Amingaon on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Rout said that over one billion individuals globally lack access to health care services. Bridging this gap through appropriate health care services will result in healthier population and a robust economy, he said.

Fulfilling this pressing need requires a multi-dimensiol efforts encompassing educating various sections of society, continuous advocacy, concerted action and societal collaboration. The camp received an overwhelming response from the local public. Two experienced physicians were present along with other para-medical staff for diagnosis, and free medicines were distributed.

Various courses of antibiotic, painkiller, cough syrup, anti-inflammatory drugs etc. were distributed. The camp is a first such initiative to pursue this multi-dimensiol objective which stressed the need for persuasive communication about healthy living and the role of preventive health care & early intervention in it as the primary cause behind the alarming number of health condition.
