Id-ul-Fitr celebrated today

GUWAHATI, July 18: With the appearance of the moon last night after a month of Roja, people belonging to the Islamic community in the city celebrated Id-ul-Fitr today with various holly activities and maz (prayers).
The Masjids and Idgaahs of the city were full of devotees to spell maz and do other religious activities. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was also present at the maz session at Sijubari Idgaah today and took part in the maz with other devotees. Likewise, in the other masjids like Machkhowa, Jalukbari, Garigaon, Ulubari, Ambari etc., thousands of devotees offered their prayer and spelt maz for brotherhood and love among the people.
