The Central Government is initiating various women empowerment policies and steps now, which I have already introduced before many years in our state. Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul M Sangma said: “The status of women in our state is higher than other parts of the country as we believe mostly in women empowerment, and therefore, we have introduced various schemes for the betterment of the women like skill development training, training on various business sectors so that women can take bank loan with only six per cent interest and start their own entrepreneurship. We are also going to start the Shillong Intertiol Centre for Performing Arts for the development in the art sector.”
The programme was presided by FLO tiol head Archa Garodia Gupta and attended by FICCI northeast chairman Ranjit Borthakur and 150 representatives from 15 different chapters of the country.
