GUWAHATI, Dec 15: Krishak Sramik Unyan Parishad, Assam (KSUPA) president Pradip Kalita spewed blood and asked KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi to ‘let the people of the State know in whose interests he is out to provide land to people who have encroached upon government land at Samoguri, Laokhowa Reserve, Kaziranga tiol Park (KNP) and Lumding Reserve’.

In a statement issued to the press today, Kalita said: “There are even illegal foreigners among those who encroached upon government land in the areas mentioned above.”

Kalita allged: “In order to win the forthcoming Assembly elections, Akhil Gogoi has surrendered before Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his Cabinet colleague Rakibul Hussain, but not without paying a huge amount of cash. Taking all these facts into account, we appeal to the farmers and labourers of the State not to follow a leader like Akhil Gogoi.”

Kalita further said: “Akhil Gogoi and the Chief Minister have reached an agreement to provide land pattas to people by January 26 next. However, I won’t let that happen. If it happens, I’ll give up my public life.”

The KSUPA leader said that the Parishad would soon make the assets of Akhil Gogoi public.
