GUWAHATI, June 23: The All Adivasi, Tea Tribes’ Coordition Committee (AATTCC) is going to hold a brainstorming session at Guwahati soon for a detailed discussion on the issue of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityath posting the nude picture of Lakshmi Orang in his facebook account recently.
In a statement issued to the press today, AATTCC chief convener David Horo said: “By posting Orang’s picture of November 24, 2007 incident at Beltola in Guwahati to his facebook account, the Chief Minister has hurt the dignity of the ethnic group. Such a step from the Chief Minister in the face of the Prime Minister’s policy of ‘beti bachao, beti podao’ is an insult to the government. The silence on the part of the government is a political conspiracy.”
Meanwhile, three Left organizations – the Students’ Federation on India (SFI), the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) – expressed their serious concern over incident. They said that the mes of the UP CM and Assam MP RP Sarmah were also entangled in the episode. They demanded of the government to take action against those associated with the act by arresting them.
