GUWAHATI, Oct 28: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) is going to recall the victims of those who lost their lives in the serial blasts at Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Barpeta Road and Bongaingaon on October 30, 2008.

In association with the local populace, various regiol units of the students’ body will light flames by shouting – let terror meet its end – besides paying homage to all those who lost their lives and praying for early recovery of those injured.

AASU president Dipangko Kumar th and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi said in a statement issued to the press today: “October 30, 2008 is a black day that can’t be forgotten by the people of Assam. It’s pathetic that the State Government hasn’t punished the perpetrators of the blasts as yet. The government not being able to rehabilitate many of the affected people and families is an instance of Dispur lacking a human heart. The government has to take stringent measures to bring terrorists under control and to root out terrorism from the State.”
