Mayong Pobitora festival from January 28

GUWAHATI, Jan 22: The two–day Mayong Pobitora festival will be held from January 28 to January 29 under the aegis of Pobitora Enchanted, an NGO. "The festival aims to promote the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary with its endangered species of animals and migratory birds and to showcase local handicrafts and handlooms from bamboo products to intricately woven traditiol garments," BJP MLA Piyush Hazarika said while talking to the newsmen. Host of activities from jeep safaris, ATV rides, ture trekking, forest bicycle trail, hot–air balloon rides, para–motoring, sports competition etc., are arranged for the occasion. The festival will have local dishes to lure foodies and light music and bonfires for ones opting for night out in tents.
