GUWAHATI, March 18: The NCP is going to field candidates in 12 Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) in the State Assembly elections.
Talking to newsmen in the city today, the party’s State committee president Ripunjay Bora said: “We believe in the politics of value, rather than the politics of mudslinging as it is seen in the State and the country. We continue to follow the ideology set for us by former State Chief Minister Sarat Chandra Sinha. We appeal to the voters to vote for the right candidates. If we become part of power in the State, we will lay emphasis on the uplift of rural economy. Without the uplift of rural economy, rural people can never be self-dependent.”
The 12 candidates and seats which the party is going to field are Anup Pratim Borbaruah for Sadia, Rajen Gogoi for Mahmora, Ajit Hazarika for Dergaon, Alok Kumar Ghosh for Mariani, Ajit Kumar Paul for Hailakandi, Mahendra Bhuyan for Tezpur, Chintu Baruah for Tinsukia and Moolnel Lal Rangkhol for Katlicherra in phase one.
