NE Book Fair remembers departed persolities

GUWAHATI, Oct 31: On the second day of the ongoing 17th North East Book Fair at Chandmari in the city today, a programme in memory of great persolities of the state who died recently was conducted. Gauhati University Vice Chancellor Mridul Hazarika, in his iugural speech, said: "The contribution of these persolities to our society made it possible to achieve the present status. The contribution of persolities like Amalendu Guha, Mohammed Taher, professor Krish Kumar Bora and poet Ajit Baruah in various fields helped society grow. Their ideology will also help us in the future as well." The programme was attended as resource persons by Paramanda Mazumder, Professor Irshad Ali, Abani Kumar Bhagawati, Dilip Kumar Baruah, Barin Sarma, M Kamaluddin Ahmed and Dilip Bora. The programme was conducted by Dayanda Pathak, Khanindra Chandra Das and Bimal Kumar Hazarika.
