OXA reiterates license cancellation of erring bars

GUWAHATI, Jan 21: The Oikya Xe Axom (OXA) staged a demonstration at Dighalipukhuripar in the city today in protest against city bars that remain open late at night and let immoral activities going on. The OXA leaders say that they caught at least two such bars in GS Road allowing immoral activities in the midnight of December 31 last. They said that their team had been beaten up badly by the goons and employees of the two bars, leading them to lodge an FIR at Bhangagarh police station. The OXA submitted a memorandum to the Kamrup(M) Deputy Commissioner today seeking cancellation of licenses of the two bars, besides exemplary punishment.
