Panel for implementation of Majitha Wage Board report

GUWAHATI, Jan 1: The Assam Government has reconstituted the tripartite committee for ensuring and monitoring of the speedy implementation of the recommendations of the Majithia Wage Board in the State. On expiry of the terms of the tripartite committee constituted on August, 2015 last, the State Government has reconstituted the tripartite committee with representatives of the Government, Newspaper magements and the jourlists/non-Jourlists workers’ unions. The committee constituted with the State Labour and Welfare Minister as the chairman, the Additiol Chief Secretary of Labour & Welfare Department as member, the State Labour Commissioner as the convenor and  the Director of Information and Public Relations as a member. The committee has sixteen members from the newspaper magement Representatives and eight were from jourlists/non-jourlist employees representatives. The notification issued in this connection has laid down term of the committee for a period of one year from its constitution. And the first sitting of the committee should be held within 30 days from its constitution. The committee would devise its own procedure of sitting and venue of the meeting as convenient to the committee. The office of the Labour Commissioner, Assam will render secretarial assistance to the committee.
