PCI probe panel hearing in city

GUWAHATI, Dec 9: The Inquiry Committee of the Press Council of India (PCI) held its first hearing at Guwahati Circuit House today with Justice CK Prasad in the chair. The PCI team is on a three-day visit to Assam from December 9-11 during which it will hear as many as 33 cases relating to violation of press freedom and press ethics in the Northeast, including Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa. Twenty-five case were taken up for hearing today.
