Presentation of film awards on Jan 10

GUWAHATI, Jan 4: The Sailadhar Baruah Memorial Trust is going to present the Sailadhar Baruah Memoral Awards, 2016 at a function at District Library in the city on January 10. According to a statement issued to the press today, the first Sailadhar Baruah Film Competition was held from January 1 to December 31, 2015 with as many as eight censored films vying for the top spots in various categories. While the best film award goes to ‘Antareen’ directed by Manjul Baruah snd produced by Mabendra Adhikari, the best director award goes to Manju Borah for Bodo film ‘Dao Huduni Methai’, the best artiste award goes to Urmila Mahanta for ‘Antareen’ and ‘Bokul’ directed by Reema Borah and the best technician award goes to sound designer Jatin Sarma for ‘Dao Huduni Methai’.
