GUWAHATI, Feb 25: Dispur is going to appoint chairpersons and maging directors of various state-owned public sectors undertakings, boards and corporations soon.
According to State BJP sources, party president Ranjit Kumar Dass had a detailed discussion with Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal on the political appointment of chiefs of boards, PSUs and corporations in the state. Sources said, those selected for such posts are MLAs, former MLAs and party leaders. "In phase I, 30 mes, 22 from BJP and four each to be med by the AGP and the BPF, will be announced," the source said, and added: "The meeting also discussed the issue of Cabinet expansion. The Cabinet is likely to be expanded after the Budget session. The meeting also discussed the present status of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC) and the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC)."
Meanwhile, State BJP president Dass congratulated the Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP president of the State and Orissa State BJP president for the win of the BJP in the recently-held civic body elections in the two States.
"The schemes taken by the Maharashtra Government and the Government of Prime Minister rendra Modi at the Centre benefitted the people of the two States, leading them to vote for the BJP spontaneously," State BJP spokespersons Subhas Dutta and Dilip Saikia said in a statement issued to the press today.
