Rains play spoilsports

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: The Durga Puja was off to a good start. However, incessant rains in the State since Asthami played spoilsports. Amidst rains, Guwahati carried out emersion of idols in various emersion ghats in the city. The puja was in full spirit with huge participation till Asthami. However, rains pour cold water on the spirit of devotees many of whom wanted to stay indoor. At various temples and puja mandaps there were sacrifices, including buffalo sacrifice. am Prasanga, Arati, cultural events etc., were seen in various puja pandals in the city.
