Rare tortoise species found, released

DIMORIA, Oct 19: A rare species of tortoise – Indian Peacock Softshell Turtle – was recovered from Digarupath in the Sopur area today by Dipu Je, a local youth, who informed the Forest personnel of it. The Forest personnel said that specimens of this rare species may be found in the Digaru River. The turtle was later released in the river. The youth felt proud of knowing that the species is a rare one.
