Reach out to flood-hit, CM directs Goalpara administration

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: In view of flash flood inundating several areas in Goalpara district, chief minister Sarbanda Sonowal directed Goalpara district Administration to be on its toes with its men and materials to extend all possible help to the affected people, including giving them relief.

It may be noted that following torrential rain for the last couple of days inundating several places of Goalpara and affecting people in the low-lying areas, Chief Minister Sonowal asked Deputy Commissioner Goalpara to reach out to the affected people with relief materials. He also asked the district administration to provide fodder to the cattle. Sonowal also asked the district administration for immediate medical facilities with special attention to babies and aged people including supply of baby food, drinking water in the affected areas.
