Recovery of female body creates sensation in Noonmati

GUWAHATI, March 17: The recovery of a female body from Segun Bagan area of Noonmati Sector-I created sensation in the area on Thursday. The 22 year old victim has been identified as a resident Indrapur area of Sector-I. It has been learnt that the victim was missing since March 15, and when family members tried to trace her, all attempts failed as her mobile was also switched off. The victim, a 6th Semester student of Abhigyan Degree College was also working at a private company in the city. Police is investigating the case, and prima facie it is being suspected as a case of rape and murder.  A case has been registered at Noonmati police station under section 302 IPC and the police is investigating the case. Meanwhile, various organizations have condemned the incident and have urged the police to b the culprits at the earliest and give justice to the victim’s family.
