Self-defense workshop for media students

GUWAHATI, April 22: With an objective of empowering aspiring female media professiols, a one-day self-defense workshop was organized by Dr Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Mass Communication and Jourlism, Cotton College at Dr T. Ao Indoor Stadium today. The workshop was exclusively organized for the female students of the media course being run by the college. Altogether, 29 students participated in the training. The programme was organized in association with Greater Guwahati Amateur Muay Thai Club. Trainer Jhankar Gogoi, who runs the club, imparted training on basic self-defense techniques and life-savings skills to the female students.
Academic coorditor Dr Santanu Sarma and faculties Sayanika Dutta and Pragjyotish Bhuyan were present in the certificate-awarding ceremony.
