Sonowal and 4 Corps GOC review security

GUWAHATI, June 4: State Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and General Officer Commanding of 4 Corps Lieutent General Debraj Anbu today review the security of the State at a meeting. Lt Gen Anbu called on Sonowal at the latter’s office chamber and apprised him of the prevailing security scerio of the State.

The meeting with the GOC 4 Corps, which took place for the first time after Sonowal took over the office of the Chief Minister, discussed several dimensions of State security. Lieutent General Anbu told Sonowal that the security scerio in Assam has improved remarkably, and the situation ‘is well under control’.

Sonowal sought cooperation from GOC 4 Corps and also assured it of extending his government’s help on all fronts for the State’s progress and prosperity.  Sonowal also asked Lt. General Anbu to extend Army’s outreach programme ‘Sadbhava’ to establish Army’s connectivity with the people of far-flung areas and ensure State’s security in all spheres.

State Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, DGP Mukesh Sahay, Home Commissioner and Secretary LS Changsan were also present at the meeting.
