Special programmes on Bhupen Hazarika

GUWAHATI, Sept 6: Programme Production Centre (North East), Doordarhsan, Guwahati is going to telecast a documentary on September 8 in DD NE –Dada Saheb Phalke Laurate Dr. Bhupen Hazarika – a journey through his films and music on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the maestro.

According to a press release, the documentary depicts a few rare scenes from the films directed by the music maestro and also opinions of a few persolities on the unique contribution the maestro made to films and music. The programme, according to the press release, has been planned and produced by programme executive Khanin Das. On the same night, another programme – Sada Bahar Bhupenda – will be telecast at 9 pm. The programme, presented by programme executive Kalyan Kumar Bezbaruah, includes songs of Bhupen Hazarika and an interaction among a few artistes. On September 7, 2016, a special programme of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s songs by leading artistes of the State will be telecast at 7.30 pm in DD NE.
