State BJP's booth-level meet today

 By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 23: The 26,000 booth committees of the State BJP are going to hold their meetings on Sunday and to listen to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
The last Sunday of every month has been chosen by the party to hold its booth committee meetings.
The BJP, after coming to power at the Centre, is trying its best to get connected to the people at the grassroots level, and holding booth-level meetings and the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ are essentially efforts towards that end.
Meanwhile, State BJP president Amit Shah may seek permission from the party high command for organizatiol reshuffle in the State committee of the party at New Delhi on September 24 and 25, 2017 when the party will have its central executive committee meeting. Such a possibility looms large as both Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and the RSS are not happy with the performance of a number of party leaders holding important posts in the State, especially in the media cell. The Chief Minister is worried over the matter that the party leaders in the State have not been able to rubbish the campaign from the Opposition parties in Assam.
There is likelihood of organizatiol reshuffle in the State BJP during the visit of the party’s tiol president Amit Shah to the State. Shah is to stay in Guwahati from September 26 to 29 when he is going to take stock of preparations for organizatiol matters ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. He is supposed to visit Mizoram, Meghalaya and galand as well during the tour. On his way back to Delhi, he is to meet the leaders of the State BJP on organizatiol matters.
Of late the preparations for panchayat poll assume much significance with the coalition partners in Assam – the AGP and BPF making it official that they are going it alone. The State BJP is holding meetings on the panchayat poll.
State BJP general secretary Dilip Saikia said: “State party president Ranjit Kumar Dass will talk to the party workers tomorrow through teleconferencing from New Delhi. Ministers, party MLAs, MPs, district in-charges have been asked to remain present at the booth committee meeting tomorrow.”
