State-level workshop on DBT

GUWAHATI, March, 28:  A two-day state-level workshop was held on March 27 and 28, 2017 in the office of the Commissioner, Panchayat and Rural Development (P & RD) Department, Assam to roll out Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for the tiol Social Assistance programme. The workshop was jointly conducted by Commissioner of P & RD, Assam in coordition with State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development, Assam to train up the district project magers and additiol district project magers of Zilla Parishads and District Rural Development Agencies. There are more than nine lakh beneficiaries across Assam who will be benefited once DBT is completely rolled out. Representatives of NIC Delhi and NIC Guwahati were attended as experts of the workshop. The workshop was also attended by MGVK Bhanu, Additiol Chief Secretary, P &RD Department and Dr. J B Ekka, Commissioner, P & RD who motivated the participants to work with dedication for the uplift of rural poor people, a press release said.
