GUWAHAHATI, Dec 1: tiol Power Training Institute (NPTI), north-eastern region, Guwahati started a tiol semir on ‘Electrical Safety – Recent Developments and Practices’ – from Thursday. The semir concluded on Friday.

The objective of the semir was to re-emphasize the importance of safe operation and maintence of various electrical and mechanical equipments, new standards of safety, statutory compliance with ISO and OHSAS provisions and provide a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas among the practicing engineers and subject experts. Iugurating the semir NPTI Director General Prof. Rajendra Kumar Pandey highlighted the role of sensors, regular and religious follow-up of maintence schedule and strict adherence to operatiol guidelines to avoid accidents resulting in loss of lives and material. He also stressed the need of implementation of intelligent automation wherever possible. Around 60 delegates from all over India took part in the semir.
