Two arrested for robbing tourist

GUWAHTI, April 29:  Brand Ambassador of Assam Tourism Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra is presently camping in Assam for the purpose of shooting a tourism video to promote and lure foreign tourists to Assam.

Unfortunately, around this time the tourism scenario in the State is not at all health.

On Friday, a tourist from Isreal Kohin  Neer, who was in Guwahati, was robbed of his belongings by the driver and handiman of a local trekker.  A case to this effect was registered (case no 1154/18) at the Dispur Police Station. The next day the duo were apprehended by the police.  The accused have been identified as Dipnkar Haloi and Buman Saikia.

The police have recovered Rs 9,000 in cash, 200 US dollars and 200 Euro and other documents from the possession of the arrested duo.
