Value-based education and child development discussed

GUWAHATI, Jan 23: To bring awareness on value-based education among teachers, parents and the community, Assam Development Initiative (ADI) Trust organized a one-day discussion forum on value-based education and child development in the city recently.

The programme was hosted by Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati. This interactive semir was held on five different panels where teachers and guardians from Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati, Maria Public School, Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, Maharshi Bidya Mandir Public School (Silpukhuri), New Guwahati Adarsh School participated. All the five panels had an open interactive discussion on the significance of value-based education, how to inculcate and impart them at the present scerio, responsibility of teachers particularly and of the community as a whole, the urgent need of inculcating them on young learners and others. The objective of the semir was explained by Biswadip Barooah, the president of ADI and the panel discussion process was initiated by Hiren Sarma, the secretary of ADI. This daylong programme was attended by Rector Ranjit rayan Deka, Dr. rayan Sharma, the secretary of the magement committee, Dilip Kumar Dutta Choudhury, the president of the magement committee and Ghashyam Medhi, the Principal and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati. Apar Devi, ex Principal and also a senior teacher from the department of Social Science conducted the whole programme.
