By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 22: A business person, Jamini Huzuri, has been traceless since Sunday evening from Ambari near Guwahati Club. The police are still to trace the women even after 48 hours of her missing. The family members allege that the police pass the buck for tracing the women to the media.

According to family members of Jamini, she was supposed to receive Rs 8 lakh from a party and Rs 6 lakh from another party.

Jamini has a textile business at Christian Basti. In Sunday evening, she received a call asking her to go down stair of her house at Ambari. From the third storey of the four-storeyed building she saw a white car and a lady accompanied by some male colleagues. She came down stair and boarded the car, and that was the last time her family members saw her. Since then she has gone missing.

Talking to this reporter, one of Jamini’s kin said: “We made several attempts to locate her through GPS on Sunday. Sometimes her location was shown at Fancy Bazar. Then her location was shown at Maligaon on Sunday. On Monday her location was shown at North Guwahati from where she sent traceless.”

Jamini’s husband Bhaben Huzuri said: “We’ve moved Latasil Police Station with an FIR on Monday. A case has been registered in that connection. The police, however, seems to pass the buck for tracing the missing person on the media. They say that the media has a big role to play in ascertaining the whereabouts of the woman. The police feel that the media has numerous channels that may make a breakthrough, leading to the recovery of the woman.”
