Bishnois: The sect responsible for putting Salman Khan behind bars

The legal battle came into limelight a few years ago when a sect from Rajasthan med Bishnois mounted pressure on the issue. Bishnois are Vishnu-worshippers and a ture loving sect whose origins can be traced back to the 15th century.

While Salman was convicted of the crime, his co-actors Soli Bendre, Neelam Kothari, Saif Ali Khan and Tabu were not found guilty. However, the Bishnoi Sabha has taken up a decision to appeal before the court against the acquittals of Salman's co-stars in this case.
