Donald Trump Taps Former US Ambassador To Run Air Force

Washington: US President Donald Trump has nominated Barbara Barrett, a former US Ambassador to Finland and one-time Republican candidate for Arizona Governor, to serve as the next secretary of the Air Force. Barrett, 68, a wealthy Republican donor and wife of former Intel chief executive Craig Barrett, has served as the Chairman of the Aerospace Corp — a non-profit corporation based in California that operates a federally funded research and development centre for the space enterprise, the Washington Post reported. Man held for aiming laser at US military jet

Tokyo, May 22: The police in Tokyo said on Wednesday that they have arrested a man in his sixties on suspicion of aiming a laser pointer at a US military transport aircraft flying close to the Yokota Air Base in the outskirts of the Japanese capital. The police said they arrested Yoshinori Shigekawa, 60, for allegedly pointing the green laser beam at a C-130J plane on a training flight at around 6.30 p.m. (local time) on February 11 as it was flying in the vicinity of the base.
