Look around the world, and you will realize that Yoga is everywhere. A form of physical exercise based on ‘Asanas,’ Yoga promotes improved control of mind and body and to enhance the well-being of the both. Originated in ancient India, the word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’ meaning ‘to yoke or join together.’

The key goal of Yoga is to attain ‘Moksha’ (liberation). Yoga helps us to realize the divine within us. It is not a religion, but the source of spirituality and wisdom, which is considered as the root of all the religions around the world. It aims towards ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body.’ After a Yoga session, the mind and the body feels energized and rejuvenated; thus bestowing the self to control the mind and the body.

Many different types of Yoga exist. To name a few are:

Hatha Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga

Power Yoga

Bikram Yoga

Kundalini Yoga

No matter what type of Yoga style you choose to perform, the ultimate aim is to attain the peace. Few of the benefits of Yoga are:

Increase the flexibility

Increase the energy levels

Yoga provides us with all-around fitness; improves health, gives mental strength, protects from injury, and improves our physical strength.
