Provide AC trains to stranded people: MLA Adelbert Nongrum

SHILLONG: North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum has suggested that the State government should provide AC trains to people who are unwell and wants to return back home to Meghalaya from different parts of the country.

"The government should ensure that there are medical staff and equipment in case of an emergency on board the trains," Nongrum said.

He said that this in the fight against COVID-19 and as representatives of the people, we have to support the State government even by way of MLA schemes.

"We should consider options as the lives of our people is more precious that developmental projects at this time of crises," he said.

The MLA also urged the State government to take up the issue seriously and ensure that people from Meghalaya stranded outside are free from any problems.
