10-day NCC camp concludes

DIBRUGARH, Jan 10: The 10-day NCC camp conducted by 10 Assam Battalion, held at DHS Kanoi College from January 2, concluded on Sunday. Around 500 NCC cadets participated in this camp. The concluding ceremony came to an end with a fasciting cultural programme organized by the participating NCC cadets. Cadets were selected to participate in the forthcoming Republic Day parade to be held in Delhi on January 26. The group of selected cadets will perform Bihu dance along with other cultural groups. Jiten Das, an expert in Bihu dance, trained this group for the gala event. Moreover, cadets were also selected from this camp itself to take part in the Republic Day parade. Second Mountain Division Deputy G.O.C. Brigadier J S Bhardwaj graced the occasion as chief guest. In his speech he urged the cadets to work selflessly and unitedly for the sake of the tion. He stated that there was no shortcut to success except hard work and perseverance to achieve the desired goal.  The concluding ceremony was also marked by the gracious presence of Colonel A. S. Ghumne and Dr. Sashikanta Saikia, Principal of DHSK College, faculty members, officials and others.
