Delhi: In an unfortunate turn of events, one 17-year-old boy from Delhi's Kalkaji area was smacked and stabbed by miscreants who were stalking his sister.

As per reports, the boy has been rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre and is still unfit to record his statement.

The incident happened near a school in Southeast Delhi's Kalkaji area on Friday. The girl was stalked by three boys since the last few days and used to pass indecent remarks. However, when her brother objected to their unruly behaviour he was attacked by the three. He was beaten and one of them stabbed him in the abdomen. Later the three of them fled from the scene. The injured boy was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where he is undergoing treatment.

As quoted by reports, police officials said that a case has been registered in this regard under Indian Penal Code sections 307 (attempt to murder), 354 D (stalking), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). Further investigations are being carried out to trace the accused who happens to be the residents of J J Camp, Giri Nagar in Govindpuri area.

Aam Admi Party (AAP) MLA from Kalkaji, Atishi took to Twitter to condemn the attack on the 17-year-old and raised an alert on the law-and-order situation of Delhi.

"Shocking state of law-and-order in Delhi continues. A young boy gets stabbed in Kalkaji protecting his sister from molesters. I'm heading to AIIMS Trauma centre to meet this young boy and his family. Praying for his speedy recovery," wrote Atishi on her Twitter handle.

The political parties have been at loggerheads over the deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital. Earlier in February AAP taking a dig at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) said that the Delhi Police is busy providing protection to the BJP leaders, which is why the common people are suffering. They further demanded the resignation of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the murder of Rinku Singh in Mongolpuri.

As per the power arrangement in the national capital, police are directly under the control of the Union Home Ministry.
