50 wives and 1050 children in the Muslim religion is an animalistic tendency, says BJP MLA

A recent statement made by a BJP MLA has created a sort of controversy as by making the statement he has particularly taken to target the Muslim religion. The BJP MLA making the controversial statement is Surendra Singh from Ballia who had recently said that the system of marrying multiple wives and giving birth to multiple children is an animalistic tendency.

The BJP MLA while talking to the media on Sunday had said, “In the Muslim religion, you know that people keep 50 wives and give birth to 1050 children. This is not a tradition but an animalistic tendency. In society, giving birth to only two to four children is normal.”

This is not the first time that the legislator has been in news for saying wrong things. Such controversial statements were made by him last year as well. Notably, in July last year, Singh had said that every Hindu couple should have five children at least as that will only help the Hindu people to retain their Hindutva. This was being stated by the legislator while speaking to a media house. He had also reiterated that this step of going for multiple children is a must as that is necessary to increase the population of Hindus in the country.

Singh had said, “It is the desire of every spiritual leader (mahant) for every couple to have a minimum of five children. This way the population will be under control, and Hindutva would remain intact.”

By taking to launch an attack on the Muslim community, the BJP legislator definitely is not doing the right thing in the present circumstances of the intolerable situation prevailing in the country.

Before this, while speaking at a Doctors' Day programme earlier this year, the legislator had said that government doctors were like ‘demons’ who did not serve the poor.

“Doctors working in government hospitals bargain with patients and have turned into demons. I pray to God that he gives them right thinking,” he said.

Surendra Singh then turned his ire towards journalists and said that most journalists worked as ‘brokers’ at the local level. This seems the controversial statements made by Singh will not come to an end.
