7-year-old girl files complaint against father for not building toilet in house

Guwahati: She is just seven-year-old and the understanding this little girl from Tamil Nadu has shown is unmatchable. The little girl, Hanifa Zaara, has captured the headlines in an overnight for going to the police stations complaining against him of not building a toilet in their house.

Zaara complains it to the police that her father broke his promise of building a toilet in the house. It was an incident of Monday when Zaara took her mother along and reached the police station to file a complaint against his father Ehsanullah.

Writing a letter to the police, the little girl states how her father cheated her with a fake promise and hence, he should be arrested as a punishment. She also states that she feels ashamed of defecating in the open and this very realization by a little girl indicates at her advance thought-process.

The little girl said, "I have been topping my class since nursery. I am in the second grade now. And he is still only saying he will do it. This is a form of cheating, so please arrest him.”

Whether you call her cute or wise, she has very realized the call of the time and hence, is worth applauds for her acute decision-making quality.

The little Zaara lives with her parents in Ambur and does not have a toilet in her house which irks her a lot. She also added that seeing a few people in their neighbourhood who has toilets in their houses, she too had asked her father for one. She added, "I was ashamed to go outside and I felt bad when people looked at me."

Responding to the complaint filed by his daughter, her father Ehsanullah said that although he had started building the toilet, he has not been able to compete for the lack of funds.

Amazed at the girl’s concern, city commissioner S Parthasarathy told, "We were very happy to see her complaint. We organise classes in schools to encourage children to ask their parents for toilets at home."

The intelligence of Zaara, with the spread of the news, impressed the Ambur Municipality Commissioner as well who announced her as the brand ambassador for the Swachh Bharat mission.

Not only this, Zaara will now have a toilet in her home constructed by the local body under the Swachh Bharat scheme.
